Morgantown High volleyball team wins Region I tourney to qualify for states

MOUNDSVILLE -- Morgantown High made a complete sweep through the Class AAA Region I tournament at John Marshall High School on Saturday to advance to next week's state tournament.
The Mohigans defeated University High, 3-0, in the first round and then added a 3-0 sweep of Bridgeport in the regional finals to advance.
It's the second consecutive year MHS has won the Region I tournament.
Grace Washburn led the way with 16 kills and 17 blocks, while teammate Issy Grushecky added 10 kills and nine blocks.
Paige Brock had 12 kills, 25 assists and nine 9 digs and Ella Voorhees added 25 digs. Hannah Marks recorded six service aces for the Mohigans.
