WVU Medicine to begin offering pediatric COVID-19 vaccine clinics

WVU Medicine

WVU Medicine will begin offering the Pfizer-BioNTech pediatric COVID-19 vaccine to children ages 5-11 Monday.

Vaccine appointments will be available on Monday and daily thereafter at the Pediatrics Clinics at WVU Medicine Cheat Lake Physicians, the WVU Medicine outpatient center at University Town Centre and at the WVU Medicine Physician Office Center on the campus of J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital. Children who already have appointments scheduled at those clinics can receive the vaccine as well.

A total of 500 appointments will also be available from 8 a.m. – noon Nov. 13 at the WVU Medicine vaccine clinic in the former Sears location at the Morgantown Mall.

No walk-in appointments will be accepted. Appointment availability is based entirely on vaccine supply; distribution is currently controlled by the state and federal governments.

Appointments can be scheduled by using MyWVUChart or by calling 855-WVU-CARE.

Children who currently have COVID-19 are not eligible for the vaccine. Anyone who believes their child may have COVID and have symptoms consistent with the disease should contact their primary care provider for a test.
