Get ready for those trick-or-treaters

Plenty of opportunities for candy in Mon and Preston

Families ready to dress up and collect some candy this Halloween will have plenty of opportunities.

We’ve compiled a list of trick-or-treat times in Monongalia and Preston counties, as well as other festive gatherings for all you ghouls, goblins and witches.

The City of Morgantown also offers some safety tips for those who plan to celebrate:

  • Don’t hand out candy if you or someone in your home is sick.
  • Stay in your neighborhood in small groups.
  • Stay outside, keep moving and give others space.
  • Wash your hands and don’t trick-or-treat if sick.

Monongalia County

  • Westover — Trick-or-treat from 6-7:30 p.m. Saturday. Turn on your porch light to participate.
  • Blacksville — Trick-or-treat from  6-7:30 p.m. Saturday.
  • Morgantown —  Trick-or-treat from 6-8 p.m. Sunday
  • Granville — Halloween party and parade Sunday. Parade starts at 5:30 p.m. on Main Street. Party will be from 6-8 p.m. at the softball field.
  • Star City — Trick-or-treat from 6-8 p.m. Sunday

Preston County

  • Kingwood Business Trick-or-Treat — 5-6 p.m. Thursday.
  • Kingwood — Trick-or-treat from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Saturday with a carnival party following at 7 p.m. at the Civic Center.
  • Newburg — Trunk-or-Treat from 5-7 p.m. Saturday.
  • Albright — Trick-or-treat from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Saturday
  • Bruceton Mills — Trick-or-treat from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Saturday
  • Rowlesburg — Trick-or-treat from 5-6 p.m. Saturday. Turn on your porch light, if you wish to hand out treats.
  • Tunnelton — Trick-or-treat from 5:30-7 p.m. Saturday
  • Reedsville — Trick-or-treat from 5:30-7 p.m. Saturday
  • Masontown — Trick-or-treat from 5:30-7 p.m. Saturday
  • Arthurdale — 5:30-7 p.m. Saturday
  • Terra Alta —Trick-or-treat from 5:30-7 p.m. Saturday
  • Aurora — Trick-or-treat from 5-7:30 p.m. Saturday
  • Brandonville — Trick-or-treat from 5:30pm-7 p.m. Saturday

Other events

  • The West Virginia Botanic Garden,  1061 Tyrone Road, will host Howl-o-Ween Doggie Trick or Treat at 4 p.m. today. Vendors will set up along the Reservoir Loop Trail and hand out dog treats. Bring something to collect doggie treats. All dogs must be kept on leashes and cleaned up after.
  • The Shack Neighborhood House, 537 Blue Horizon Drive, will host Trunk or Treating from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Thursday.
  • Buffalo Wild Wings,  8735 University Town Centre Drive, will host a Kids Halloween Party from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Thursday.
  • StoneBridge Baptist Church will host Trunk or Treat from 5-7 p.m.  Saturday in the parking lot of the Morgantown Commons, 6510 Mall Road.
  • First United Bank and Trust, 1951 Hunter’s Way, will host a Trunk or Treat from 5-8 p.m. Friday in Sabraton.
  • Tropics,  2500 Cranberry Square, will host Kids Trunk or Treat at 5 p.m. Friday.
  • The Downtown Morgantown Haunted Walk is set for Friday, with tour times at 6:30 p.m., 7:15 p.m. and 8 p.m. Tickets cost $25.
  • Chestnut Ridge Regional Park, 346 Chestnut Ridge Camp Road in Bruceton Mills, will host Kids’ Halloween Paint in the Park from 2-5 p.m. Saturday. Tickets cost $30.
  • Triune Halleck VFD,  1621 Halleck Road, will host Trunk or Treat from 6-8 p.m. Saturday.
  • Hagans Christian Church,  1637 Hagans Road in Maidsville, will host Trunk or Treat from 4-6 p.m. Saturday.
  • Masontown Fire Hall, at 362 North Main St., will host Trunk or Treat from 5:30-7 p.m. Saturday.
  • Elks Lodge No. 411, 1138 Chestnut Ridge Road, will host a Trunk or Treat from 1-4 p.m. Sunday. If it rains, it will be  in the ballroom.
  • Goshen Baptist Church,  1070 Goshen Road, will host a Trunk or Treat from 6-8 p.m. Sunday. Attendees are encouraged to wear costumes for the free event.
  • Arnettsville Community Center, 4120 Fairmont Road, will host Trunk or Treat at 3 p.m. Sunday.
