Sandra Hagan

Sandra Sue Hagan, 77, of Rowlesburg, died unexpectedly on Wednesday Sept. 15, 2021, at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.

The daughter of the late Kenneth H. and Norma Ray Knotts Paden, she was born March 27, 1944, in Rowlesburg.

Sandy grew up in Rowlesburg and then moved to Dover, Del. and raised her family. While in Delaware, she was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Smyrna, Del. She worked at Platex and General Foods in Dover. She managed a successful commercial poultry business and raised record breaking flocks. She honored the wishes of a very special friend, who died of alzheimers, and took care of her husband for many years.

She moved back to Rowlesburg in 2005 to help take care of her parents. She attended the Independent Baptist Church in Kingwood and was most recently employed at the Rowlesburg Elementary School. She enjoyed gardening, sewing and baking.

She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who is survived by her husband, John Lyn Hagan; three daughters, Brenda (Tim) Dunagan and Roberta Johnson, all of Florida, and Marsha (Reggie) Karnes, of Maryland; a sister, Yvonne Gover, of Florida; seven grandchildren, Kenny Thompson, Tyler Payne and Jacob, Kayla, Jana, Caleb and Briella Karnes; one great-grandson, Bentley Thompson; several nieces and nephews; and a wonderful friend network.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Ken Paden Jr.

There will be a graveside service held at the Aurora Cemetery, at 2 p.m., Saturday Sept. 25, with Pastor Allen Ryman officiating.
