Joseph Zarilla

Joseph Zarilla Jr., 56, of Morgantown, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2021. He passed peacefully at the Mon Health Medical Center. Joseph was born June 11, 1965, in New Castle, Pa., a son to Joseph Zarilla Sr. and Genevieve Antuono-Casbero.

Joseph was a graduate of Union High School in New Castle and later graduated from a construction and maintenance program at the local technical school. He played minor league baseball until an injury would force him into retirement.

Joseph was a huge Pittsburgh Steelers fan and was a fantasy football fanatic. He loved hunting, yard sales, collectables and playing drums, but nothing would compare to his love for Christ and soul winning. He was the founder and pastor of Power in Praise Ministries in Morgantown. For more than 14 years, he would proclaim the gospel and lead more than 230 souls to Christ.

His testimony will live on in those he loved, prayed for and ministered to.

Joseph is survived by his fiancée, Themelina Kalouris; daughters, Gabrielle Tennant and husband Jason and Rebecca Zarilla; sons, Joseph Zarilla III and fiancée Tasha Lemley and Anthony Zarilla and fiancée Faith Hartley; one sister, Genevieve Casbero Hasson and his bonus children, Maranda Luzader, Jeremiah Rowan and Albert Rowan Jr; grandchildren Bayleigh Hartley, Isaiah Tennant, Harley Hartley, Eli Tennant, Ayana Alt, Nevaeh Zarilla, Coralie Zarilla and Joseph Zarilla IV; bonus grandchildren, Braden and Breanna Rowan, Dezirae and Autumn Luzader, Charles Parks and Xander Rowan.

Friends will be received at the Fred Jenkins Funeral Home from 11 a.m. until the time of services at 1 p.m. Monday, Sept. 20, conducted by his daughter Gabrielle and son-in-law Jason Tennant. He will be laid to rest at the Olive Cemetery, Pentress.

All visitors will be asked to wear a face-covering to attend services.
