Trinity names Chavez new superintendent

MORGANTOWN — Matthew Chavez was named Trinity Christian School superintendent and introduced at the school’s Back-to-School Bash Aug. 18.
Chavez brings more than 27 years of experience as he takes the helm of the interdenominational Christian school, which provides care and education for students from infancy through high school.

Over the years, Chavez has served students and families in several different roles, including pastor of the school community, superintendent, principal, chairman of the school board, vice principal, athletic director, coach and teacher.

He earned his bachelor’s degree in comparative literature from San Diego State University and his master’s and Ed. S. in educational administration from Pensacola Christian College. Chavez earned his Doctorate in Christian Education from Calvary Chapel University.
