Sheriff ask for help identifying Dug Hill remains

The Monongalia County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help identifying the human remains found off Dug Hill Road on June 10.

The skeletal remains were discovered in a field that runs on either side of where Dug Hill Road runs parallel to Interstate 68, Detective John Wilhelm said.

The remains were sent to the medical examiner in Charleston but the department is still waiting on results and hoping to drum up public interest in identifying the person in the meantime.

The body was wearing a masculine LA Lakers shirt, black sweatpants, black athletic shoes with white stripes on top and red soles. There were also two dreadlocks found next to the body.

It’s believed the remains have been there for a significant amount of time and Sheriff Perry Palmer asked that anyone who has a missing person or loved one who could have been in the area to please contact detectives at 304-291-7218.
