Margaret Trickett

Margaret Lou Trickett, 96, of Independence, passed away Monday, June 21, 2021, at Grafton City Hospital. She was born on Dec. 14, 1924, in Arthurdale, daughter of the late Frank Lowe and Margaret May (Zinn) Smith.

Margaret worked for the Preston County Board of Education and was a homemaker. She attended Independence Baptist Church. She enjoyed antiques.

Margaret is survived by two sons, Dennis Trickett Sr. and Mike Trickett and Belinda, both of Independence; one daughter, Ruth Sapp and Wayne, of Westfield Center, Ohio; two grandchildren, Dennis Trickett Jr. and Amber, of Carmichaels, Pa., and Sean Sapp and Renee, of Medina, Ohio; four great-grandchildren, Cassy, Carly, Nash and Sloane; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Harmon Trickett, on Dec. 22, 1988; two brothers, Orval and Joseph Smith; and three sisters, Mildred Elaine Bolyard, Mary Olive Leasure and Genevieve Edwards.

Family and friends will be received at the Bolyard Funeral Home, 79 Morgantown St., Newburg, from
3-7 p.m. Thursday, June 24, and from 11 a.m. until the time of service at 1 p.m. Friday, June 25, with the Rev. Carl Trickett officiating. Interment will follow at the Gladesville Cemetery. Bolyard Funeral Home is honored to serve the Trickett family.
