Road Work

Workers continue repairs Monday to the Interstate 79 Halleck Road overpass.

More than two years ago, metal I-beam braces were installed in spots to add support underneath.

From underneath, crumbling seams and supports were visible in November 2019, prompting residents to ask  West Virginia Division of Highways’ officials when further repairs would happen during a Monongalia County Commission meeting.

In March 2020, DOH awarded a contract to Kelly Paving, which had a low bid of $7,813,012. The project is expected to be complete by the end of this year.
