AnnaBell Bennett

AnnaBell Bennett, 92, of Morgantown, passed away on Sunday, May 9, 2021, at Mon Health Medical Center. She was born on July 16, 1928, in Masontown, daughter of the late Earl Strahin and Dana Young.

AnnaBell retired from the Housing Department of West Virginia University. She was a member of the Izaak Walton League, Harner Chapel United Methodist Women, Durbannah Garden Club, Kitchenaire Band and BOPARC Senior Recreation Center. She was also named as Mon County Senior Citizen of The Year.

She is survived by a son, Charles Jones Jr. and wife, Linda, of Morgantown; two daughters, Carla Lukehart and husband Don, of Pittsburgh, and Kim DeProspero and husband John DeProspero, of Morgantown; six grandchildren, Scott Lukehart and wife Melissa, Doug Lukehart, Jennifer Pulice and husband Dave, Amy Tingler, Jason DeProspero and Michelle Bolen and husband, Josh; eight great-grandchildren, A.J. Lukehart, Nick Pulice, Ethan Pulice, Alyssa Tingler, Matthew Tingler, Nate Tingler, Grant Postlewait and Emma Locke; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, AnnaBell was preceded in death by her first husband, Charles Blake Jones Sr., and her second husband, Leo C. Bennett; three brothers, James Strahin, Richard Strahin and Earl Strahin; and two sisters, Betty Strahin and Violet Nuce.

In accordance with her wishes, Hastings Funeral Home Omega Crematory is entrusted with cremation arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, donations are encouraged to be made in AnnaBell’s memory to Harner Chapel United Methodist Church, 100 Luckey Lane, Morgantown, WV 26501.
