Hotel hosts fundraiser to benefit shelter

ARDMORE, Pa. — Scholar Hotel Group, specializing in hotels on or near college campuses, announces a fundraiser set for Friday, for National Adopt a Shelter Pet Day. Each hotel will partner with a local rescue organization and will donate a portion of their restaurant’s daily sales to support the efforts of these organizations. The Morgantown Scholar Hotel is participating.

National Adopt a Shelter Pet Day was created to raise awareness for the millions of animals waiting in shelters to find their forever homes. According to the Humane Society, 6 to 8 million animals enter shelters in the United States annually, with 28% of dogs and 31% of cats completing adoptions every year.

Scholar Hotels will donate 10% of the food and drink portion of each customer’s check for breakfast, lunch and dinner that day to the partner rescue organization at each location.

Scholar Hotel in Morgantown is at 345 Chestnut St. Sales in the Lobby Bistro will go to benefit Animal Friends of North Central West Virginia.

“Many of us at Scholar Hotel Group and our hotels know the happiness and love that comes from opening your home up to a rescue animal,” said Ronald Balle, vice president of sales and marketing for Scholar Hotel Group. “We are proud to be partnering with such great organizations to help them in their mission to find every pet a forever home.”
