Two Detroit men charged in weekend burglary

Two men from Detroit were arrested after allegedly kicking in the door to a home in the Greenmont neighborhood early Saturday morning.

Tywuan T. Coakley, 47, is charged with burglary and possession with intent to deliver marijuana. Cynchez Exzavier-Damoii Grace is charged with burglary.

Patrolman L. Holder, of the Morgantown Police Department, was sent to a home on Brockway Avenue, near Overdale Street, for a disturbance at 5:38 a.m. Saturday, according to a criminal complaint. When he arrived, the victim told Holder three men had just kicked his door and were running away, the complaint said.

Nothing was taken from the home because the occupant was there at the time and “immediately confronted the suspects,” Morgantown Communications Director Andrew Stacy said.

Holder chased one of the men, detained him and identified him as Coakley. The victim identified him as one of the men and he was arrested, the complaint said. A search found about 16 grams of marijuana and $2,645.

Grace was stopped in the area of Pleasant Street and also identified by the victim, according to his criminal complaint.

Stacy said the MPD is following up to identify the third suspect. Both men were arraigned Saturday by Magistrate Ron Bane. Coakley is being held on $125,000 bond. Grace is being held on $75,000 bond.
