Playground, fencing part of Krepps Park improvements

MORGANTOWN — Whether you’re taking the kiddo or Fido (or both),  BOPARC has projects under way aimed at improving your Krepps Park experience.

The agency is working with Alco Fence on a $24,000 effort to replace just under 800 feet of perimeter fencing for the Krepps Dog Park.

During the upcoming March BOPARC meeting, the board is expected to vote on a bid to install new playground equipment at the park.

Executive director Melissa Wiles said the old equipment was removed over the winter.

The new equipment, purchased from Park & Play for $102,000, has been sitting in storage as the project was delayed last year after BOPARC’s installation budget was cut due to COVID-19 funding reductions.

Wiles said work on the playground will begin later this month and completion will be somewhat dependent on weather as installation of the safety surface is temperature sensitive.

During the February BOPARC meeting,  Assistant Director Marissa Travinski said the Krepps Park playground will be the latest project undertaken as part of the Play for All initiative aimed at making play facilities accessible to as many children as possible.
