Drug task force: Fentanyl, cocaine found in apartment

A Pennsylvania man was arrested Thursday following a search of a Brookhaven apartment by the Mon Metro Drug Task Force.

Ryan J. Michaux, 22, is charged with possession with intent to deliver cocaine and possession with intent to deliver fentanyl.

The drug task force and the West Virginia State Police Special Response Team went to an apartment at 89 Brookhaven Road Tuesday to serve a search warrant, according to a criminal complaint. Michaux was the only person inside.

The search found a “large quantity of white power substance,” which field tested positive for cocaine, the complaint said. A pink powder, which tested positive for fentanyl, was also found and weighed more than one gram but less than five grams.

A gun was also found and after entering it into the National Crime Information Center, it was discovered as stolen from Morgantown, according to the complaint.

Michaux was arrested and arraigned in Monongalia County Magistrate Court. He is being held in North Central Regional Jail in lieu of $75,000 bond.
