West Virginia gets ready to host Texas Tech

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Following a 92-58 upset win over No. 17 Texas, the West Virginia women’s basketball team gets set to host Texas Tech at 7 p.m. on Wednesday in Morgantown.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, WVU’s home games will take place without spectators in the WVU Coliseum through Jan. 24. Only essential game operations personnel and families of the players and women’s basketball staff will be admitted into the arena.

The Mountaineers have won their last seven meetings against the Lady Raiders.

Texas Tech is coming of a 99-72 loss to Iowa State on Jan. 10. The Lady Raiders have lost their last three games. Guard Vivian Gray leads Texas Tech in points (19.0), rebounds (7.6), assists (3.27), steals (1.09) and blocks (1.45) per game this season.
Dan Zangrilli and Ayana Dunning will call the game for the Mountaineer Sports Network from Learfield IMG College. Oklahoma State game rescheduled for Saturday
The women’s basketball team has announced that next week’s game against Oklahoma State, previously scheduled on Jan. 23, will now be played at 2 p.m. Saturday at the WVU Coliseum. The game will be broadcast on Big 12 Now on ESPN+.
