Fun and safe Mountaineer holiday events

The holiday countdown is on, Mountaineer Country! Enjoy the remaining weeks of the festive season in our region while staying safe and planning ahead as you prepare your business/organization for the New Year.

Home for the holidays 

Putting up the Christmas tree, hanging the lights and visiting Santa — one thing is for sure, the holidays are here. If you are a local or you are visiting Mountaineer Country, there is plenty to do this holiday season. 

Check out the remaining seasonal events taking place throughout the region so you may book your spots and plan in advance.

  • Celebration of Lights — Wednesdays through Sundays in December, head to Morris Park in Fairmont for the Celebration of Lights, a festive spectacular that visitors can walk or drive through.
  • Drive-Thru Live Nativity — Starting at 6:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, drive through the “Journey to Bethlehem,” a free drive-thru nativity at Pretzel Arena in Bruceton Mills.
  • Winter market — Find fresh goods just in time for holiday cooking  from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday at the Monongalia County Extension Building at Mylan Park.
  • Hill & Hollow Christmas feast — Order today and pick up for ready-to-serve Christmas feast, starting at 3 p.m. Dec. 24. Each feast feeds  four-six people, for a total of $150. Preorder by email with the following information: Name, contact number, pick-up time, choice of duck, pork or salmon, choice of ready to serve or packed to reheat.

While this year’s in-person parade may be canceled for the City of Morgantown, be on the lookout for a special Morgantown Christmas Parade Throughout the Years video to be shared on YouTube and Morgantown’s government access channel, Comcast cable channel 15.
