KINGWOOD — Beginning Dec. 1, the Kingwood Detachment of the West Virginia State Police is accepting donations of canned goods and new unwrapped toys for the annual State Troopers for West Virginia Needy.

Donations will be accepted until Dec. 15 at the detachment at 50 J.T. Brammer Lane, just off W.Va. 26 south, in Kingwood.

The toys and food will assist the Salvation Army and Food For Preston to benefit needy families this holiday season.

“We are pleased and privileged to be a part of this campaign with all who give. Now, more than ever, contributions are vital to those impacted by COVID and other factors. We appreciate the participation and generosity of the local citizens and organizations that help make the holidays brighter for those in need in our area. We invite everyone to contribute to this effort,” Detachment Commander Sgt. John Wyatt said.
