David DeWitt

David Eugene DeWitt, 70, of Masontown, W.Va., went to be with his Lord and Savior Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2020, at Pine Ridge Nursing Home.

He was born in Kingwood, on Feb. 3, 1950, a son of Gilbert David DeWitt and Mary Aldena (Sisler) DeWitt.

He was a custodian at the Trinity Christian School in Morgantown for many years, where he was loved and respected by students and staff. He spent countless hours praying for the safety of the children.

David is survived by his loving wife, Brenda Lee (Hixenbaugh) DeWitt; seven children, Kimberly Ashmore, of Florida, Nancy Beer and husband Roger, of Virginia, April Davis and Brian, of Pennsylvania, Gwen Rouse, of Florida, Daniel DeWitt and Amy, of Mississippi, Misty Keener and Aaron, of Reedsville, and Tommy Calhoun and Samantha, of Kingwood; 19 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; former wife, Gwenda Albright, of Florida; four brothers; four sisters; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his second wife, Cathy Jo (Mayle) DeWitt and four brothers.

Friends may call at the Glory Bound Apostolic Tabernacle in Morgantown from 11 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 25 until the 1 p.m. service time with Pastor Norma Stimmel officiating. Interment will follow in the Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Morgantown.

Due to COVID-19, safety precautions will be taken, the social distancing 6-foot rule will be honored and all guests, whose health allows, are to wear a mask.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Field Funeral Home to help the family with funeral arrangements.
