Garden installation up through October

Newsroom@DominionPost.com

The West Virginia Botanic Garden celebrates fall with a scarecrow installation throughout its 85-acre site, creating an autumn attraction while promoting numerous causes in the region.

Organizations were invited to create and display scarecrows for the month of October at the garden. A sign has been placed with each installation that announces the name and mission of the organization as well as a QR code that invites visitors to vote for their favorite.

Organizations participating this year are Avian Conservation Center of Appalachia, Cheat Area Public Library, Community Coalition for Social Justice, Empty Bowls Monongalia, Milan Puskar Health Right, Mon Chapter of the Sierra Club, Mountain People’s Co-Op, Spark! Imagination and Science Center, and the West Virginia Botanic Garden.

The garden is five miles from Interstate 68, Exit 4 at 1061 Tyrone Road.
