A man was arrested after police allegedly found him sitting on a couch inside the Clear Mountain Bank in the Suncrest Plaza off Van Voorhis Road on Sunday.

Delbert G. Lemley, 49, of Fairview, is charged with felony destruction of property by the West Virginia University Police Department.

Officer S. Gray was dispatched to the bank because several burglar alarms were going off, according to a criminal complaint.

Gray arrived and noticed the drive-thru ATM was “heavily damaged” with a cracked main screen, a camera in the drive-thru was broken, a window on the east side of the building was cracked and a back window was broken out, the complaint said.

Gray wrote he saw a black man – who he knew to be Lemley from previous encounters – inside the bank “yelling and walking around.”

Once backup arrived, officers entered the building through the broken window and found Lemley sitting on a couch in an office, the complaint said.Inside, several doors were opened, food was left everywhere and there was defecation on the floor of the bank, the complaint said.

Lemley is being held in North Central Regional Jail in lieu of $100,000 bond.
