Edward Cornwell

Edward Paul Cornwell Jr., 72, of Independence, passed away at his sister’s residence on Friday, Oct. 16, 2020, with family by his side. He was born March 8, 1948, in Grafton, son of the late Edward Paul Cornwell Sr. and Harriet H. Cornwell.

Paul worked at Hopemont Hospital on the farm, and several sawmills during his life. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, doing puzzles, word memory books and collecting model trains.

Paul is survived by one sister, Barbara Zuchowski and husband Harry, of Independence; one brother, Johnny Chambers and wife Patty, of Newburg; seven nieces and nephews, Kelly Dalton and husband Randy, of Morgantown, Scott Zuchowski and wife Kim, of Independence, John Chambers Jr. and wife Tonya, of Accident, Md., Jeremy Chambers and wife Tara, of Homestead, Fla., Amber Chambers, of Anchorage, Alaska, Chad Chambers and Sarah, of Independence, and Chase Chambers, still at home in Newburg; 11 great-nieces and nephews, Cody Sheets, Ashley Dalton, Brady Dalton, Tisha Zuchowski, Lily Chambers, Jacob Chambers, Makena Chambers, Cylar Chambers, Reed Chambers, Alex Chambers and Owens Chambers.

Family will receive friends at Bolyard Funeral Home from 2-7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 19, and from 9 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 20 until the time of funeral service at noon with Pastor Norman Hawkins officiating with proper distancing and face mask required. Interment will be at Shay’s Chapel Cemetery. A special thank you to Amedysis Hospice for all their support and care of Paul.
