Man found guilty of sexual assault of teenager

A jury of 11 men and one woman found a 50-year-old man guilty of sexually abusing a teenage girl after a three-day trial in Monongalia County Circuit Court this week.

Kenneth Hager, of Morgantown, was convicted on two counts of sexual abuse or assault by a parent, guardian or custodian, Monongalia County Prosecutor Perri DeChristopher said.

The crimes were committed in summer 2018 and his victim was removed from his custody following the investigation, she said.

Following his convictions, Judge Susan Tucker revoked his bond, and he is being held until a sentencing hearing in December. DeChristoper said the victim will have a chance to submit a statement and a pre-sentence investigation will be completed.

Assistant Prosecutor Keshia Tenorio prosecuted the case with DeChristoper.

The jury returned its verdict after about two hours of deliberations, DeChristopher said.
