HOW THEY SCORED: Oklahoma State 27, West Virginia 13

SECOND QUARTER

OKLAHOMA STATE TOUCHDOWN: L.D. Brown 66-yard run (13:43), Oklahoma State leads 7-0.

The Cowboys struck first after both teams traded punts in the first quarter.

Brown started off on the left side, made a slight cut back to the right and hit the hole and went untouched for the first score of the game.

OKLAHOMA STATE TOUCHDOWN: Tyren Irby 54-yard fumble return (11:07), Oklahoma State leads, 14-0.

On a third-and-15, WVU quarterback Jarret Doege sat in the pocket for too long and Oklahoma State’s Trace Ford came up with the sack and forced fumble. Irby recovered it and turned it into a scoop-and-score.

OKLAHOMA STATE FIELD GOAL: Alex Hale 40-yard kick (5:02), Oklahoma State leads, 17-0.

Following a WVU fumble on a field-goal attempt, the Cowboys drove 48 yards on seven plays to set up the kick.

WVU defender Nicktroy Fortune was flagged for a roughing-the-passer penalty to help the Cowboys’ fortunes.

WVU TOUCHDOWN: Winston Wright 70-yard pass from Doege, (3:48), Oklahoma State leads, 17-7.

Wright hauled in Doege’s pass across the middle and found himself in a wide open sprint to the end zone.

It was Wright’s fourth reception of the game and he had 112 yards at this point.

OKLAHOMA STATE FIELD GOAL: Hale 44-yard kick (0:03), Oklahoma State leads, 20-7.

WVU defensive lineman Dante Stills got hit with a facemask penalty to give this drive some legs.

Hale’s 44-yard kick was a career long.

Also, WVU punter Tyler Sumpter only had a 35-yard punt on the Mountaineers’ previous possession to set the Cowboys up at their own 33, which gave them some options.

THIRD QUARTER

WVU FIELD GOAL: Evan Staley 26-yard kick (0:37), Oklahoma State leads, 20-10.

The Mountaineers took advantage of an interception from Tony Fields and drove into the red zone before settling for Staley’s kick.

The big play on the drive came from T.J. Simmons, who hauled in a 19-yard pass from Doege and broke some tackles along the way.

FOURTH QUARTER

WVU FIELD GOAL: Staley 30-yard kick (9:01), Oklahoma State leads, 20-13.

The Mountaineers drove into the red zone for a second consecutive possession, but came away with only a field goal for the second time.

Doege was 4 of 6 passing on the drive and Wright caught two of those passes.

The drive got a boost with a 15-yard facemask penalty on the Cowboys on a third-and-nine play and Doege threw under pressure.

OKLAHOMA STATE TOUCHDOWN: Chuba Hubbard 23-yard run (1:17), Oklahoma State leads, 27-13.

On second-and-21, Hubbard finally broke through.

He made a nice cutback at the line of scrimmage and then burst through the right side of the line and into the end zone.

The drive lasted 15 plays and went 80 yards, as the Cowboys sealed the game with a drive that lasted nearly eight minutes.
