West Virginia to induct 11 to Sports Hall of Fame in 2020

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Eleven outstanding contributors to Mountaineer athletics make up the 30th class of honorees in the WVU Sports Hall of Fame, announced Saturday by athletic director Shane Lyons.

The 2020 class includes Janáe (Cox) Asbury (gymnastics), Da’Sean Butler (men’s basketball), Janis Denise “JD” Drummonds (women’s basketball), Jedd Gyorko (baseball), Richard “Dick” Leftridge (football), John McGrath (men’s soccer), Tony Robertson (men’s basketball), John Rost (rifle), Clara (Grandt) Santucci (women’s cross country & track), Tom Shafer (baseball) and Ron Wolfley (football).

Due to COVID-19, there will be no induction ceremony this fall. This year’s class will be inducted along with the 2021 class during the 2021 football season. This class brings the total number of inductees to 208.
