Mary Elizabeth Vankirk, of Morgantown, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, went home to be with her Savior, Friday, Aug. 7, 2020. She was born May 17, 1928, in Monongalia County, to Jesse and Mary Elizabeth Johnson. She was the youngest of six children, all of whom have preceded her in death.
She was also preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Dennis L Vankirk Sr. Together, they were the owners of Vankirk Appliance Service.
She is survived by her three children, Dennis L Vankirk Jr. and wife Linda, Roger Vankirk and wife Marilyn and James Vankirk and wife Wendy, four grandchildren Stacey Murray and husband David, of Durham N.C., Bryan Vankirk and wife Renee, of Bridgeport, Andrea Warnick and husband Chad, of Morgantown, and Jamie Vankirk, of Morgantown; and seven great-grandchildren Matthew Murray, Kamryn, Kendal, Kai and Kade Vankirk and Connor and Madisyn Warnick.
She was saved at Emmanuel Baptist Church, Morgantown, under the ministry of Pastor Barry Darnell. Mary and Dennis later became members of Faith Baptist Church, Morgantown.
Arrangements are incomplete and have been entrusted to the Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home.
