Police respond to suicide downtown Saturday

A 38-year-old man committed suicide just around midnight Saturday on High Street.

The Morgantown Police Department responded to a disturbance, initially reported as a fight, at about 12:15 a.m. Saturday, according to Communications Director Andrew Stacy.

When officers arrived, they found a man had committed suicide with a firearm inside his vehicle, Stacy said.

The man’s death is being investigated, Stacy said.

The Dominion Post is not naming the victim.
