Good week to gather up family and head to pools

Marilla and Krepps both open as week’s temperatures expected to be in 80s

With temperatures in the 80s all week the call of cool water is likely to be strong.

Luckily, Krepps Pool is open and visitors are encouraged to come out — though there are some different rules in place this year.

On top of the usual safety precautions — no running, no diving in shallow water, no rough-housing — pool-goers must also follow the COVID-19 guidelines put in place by the state.

That means maintaining physical distancing of at least 6 feet between patrons, not sharing equipment such as snorkels and goggles and staying home if you have any symptoms of illness.

Visitors may be screened on arrival to make sure they’re in good health and are asked to bring their own towels to cut down on cross-use.

The number of people allowed to use restroom facilities at one time may be limited, as will contact with staff.

Pool hours are noon-6 p.m. daily and prices are available on the website, at boparc.org/krepps-pool.

Marilla Pool is also open noon-6 p.m. daily.
