Reedsville woman charged after giving marijuana to a minor who then ran into a window, shattering it

KINGWOOD — Police say a Reedsville woman gave a juvenile marijuana to smoke and the child ran into a window, breaking it.

Angela M. Marconyak, 53, is charged with misdemeanor child neglect. Her bond was set at $500 when she was arraigned this week. The alleged incident happened March 7.

According to the criminal complaint by Preston Sheriff’s Sgt. S. Mitter, she was dispatched to Plum Hill Terrace on the complaint and found the child with her mother and an ambulance crew.

The juvenile had run through Marconyak’s apartment and into a window, shattering it. Marconyak told the officer the child had a seizure.

The child’s mother said when the juvenile’s younger sister told her what was going on, she found her child in Marconyak’s apartment, naked from the waist down and running in place.

The juvenile told her mother Marconyak had given her marijuana. Marconyak initially denied the complaint, saying she gave the juvenile Tylenol, which the juvenile drank with hot soda, then vomited in Marconyak’s apartment and said she wanted to exercise.

Asked if she had marijuana, Marconyak showed Sgt. Mitter a pipe holding burnt marijuana. The juvenile told the deputy she had asked Marconyak for the drug because she knew that she had some. When asked again if she gave the juvenile marijuana,
Marconyak said, “I reckon.”
