MORGANTOWN — West Virginia United States Pageants, along with various businesses and individuals from throughout the state, will present a statewide prom July 18 in the Charleston Civic Center.

Due to a recent outbreak of COVID-19, students throughout the state will miss their proms and graduation ceremonies. West Virginia United States National Pageants will host a statewide prom for juniors and seniors in West Virginia who attend a public high school, private high school or are homeschooled. Students who are freshmen, sophomores, and/or individuals under the age of 21 are welcome to attend if accompanied by a junior or senior.

Designer Johnathan Kayne will also attend the event to conduct a model search, along with many other ideas in the works for the students of West Virginia.

Tickets will be available for purchase on Eventbrite. Individual tickets are $25 each. Couples tickets are $40 each.

West Virginia high school juniors or seniors can enter or be nominated for a ride to and from the event, a free dinner with a plus-one and Miss West Virginia United States, and a celebrity guest for prom night.

To enter, those interested must purchase a ticket to the event and send a promposal with an attached photo to misswvunitedstates@outlook.com. To nominate someone who has purchased a ticket to the event, send a photo and why you think they should win to misswvunitedstates @outlook.com. The deadline for this giveaway is July 4.
