Reedsville woman steals stimulus money

KINGWOOD — A Reedsville woman is charged with larceny for allegedly stealing part of someone else’s stimulus check.

Vanessa Dawn Molisee, 23, is also charged with providing false information to a state trooper.

According to the criminal complaint by Trooper C.E. Smith, the victim told him she received a $2,000 stimulus check April 28. She couldn’t cash it because she didn’t have an ID.

Molisee allowed her to put the check into her PayPal account and gave the victim the debit card for the account. The victim said a total of $879 was transferred out of the account to a VISA. She did not authorize the transfers, the victim told police.

When confronted, Molisee first denied she made the transfers to her VISA, then admitted it, according to the complaint.

Molisee was arraigned Tuesday, and bond was set at $5,000.
