Nicole Michele Ferrise, 48, passed away May 3, 2020, at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. She was born in Huntington, on May 8, 1971, a daughter of Linda Lacaria Ferrise and the late Richard Ferrise.
Nicole graduated from West Fairmont High School and her beloved Pennsylvania State University, where she was the editor of the LaVie yearbook, inducted into Lion’s Paw and a member of Gamma Phi Beta sorority. She worked at various careers throughout her life but most memorable was as a sales representative for Herff Jones Yearbooks working with journalism teachers and students throughout West Virginia, Pennsylvania and Maryland creating their high school yearbooks.
Nicole was a dearly loved daughter, sister, aunt and great-aunt. She was so proud of her nieces and nephew and loved spending time with Sophia, Gianna, Dominic, Mia and Aria.
She will be remembered for her infectious laugh and the joy she had in making others laugh by telling a good story, of which she had many. She was, indeed, one of a kind.
Nicole is survived by her mother, Linda Lacaria Ferrise, her sister, Danielle Palmiero and husband Michael; nieces, Gianna and Mia Palmiero, Sophia Nativia and husband Sebastian and their daughter Aria; and nephew Dominic Palmiero. She is also survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins but special in her life were her Uncle Robert Ferrise and Aunt Sue Nudleman.
The family wishes to thank WVU hospital, physicians and nurses of the Surgical ICU; 7 West physicians and nurses and 7 W Hospice for their excellent care of Nicole and support of her family; and the Monongalia County EMS.
During this pandemic, we wish to continue honoring all safety guidelines and ask that in lieu of visitation, a donation be made to St. Jude’s Hospital in honor of Nicole, as that is a charity that is close to our family’s heart. A celebration of Nicole’s life will be held at a later time when friends and family are not restricted to gather.
