Mountain Line driver tests positive for COVID-19

On Saturday, Monongalia County Health Department shared a Mountain Line announcement on its Facebook page, saying that a driver for the public transit outfit has tested positive for COVID-19.

According to the announcement, which begins, “Attention Mountain Line Passengers,” those who had contact with the employee have been identified and “Monongalia County Health Department is working with Mountain Line to take the necessary steps to test, isolate and trace potential additional
contacts.”

Since the beginning, buses have undergone rigorous cleaning and disinfecting daily, as well as being equipped with “cough curtains,” according to Mountain Line’s website, busride.org. Drivers have also been issued gloves and masks.

Moving forward, Mountain Line mandates all passengers “will be asked to socially distance on the bus … wear a face covering and call 304-296-3680 to register your trip.”

Mountain Line also asks that people do not use the bus if they are sick, even with a cold. While on the bus, please cover any coughs or sneezes and keep hands clean.

Riders should also only use the bus for essential trips, such as medical appointments, to go to work or to buy necessities like groceries.
