Virtual dental appointments

Pineview Dental Care, in Morgantown, has recently launched an online tool that will allow customers to have virtual dental consultation, from the safety of their own homes and without having to visit the office. In addition to this resource, Pineview Dental will offer these consultations at no charge to the patient, as a way to help give back and pay it forward during these challenging times.

Dr. Adam Myers, owner of Pineview Dental Care, created the idea for AskADentistOnline.com as a way that he could help serve the community.

“We wanted a way that we could help those in need during this time, as our office supports and encourages our community to stay home.” Myers said. “Our normal office location is temporarily closed for the well-being of both our customers and our team, as we support the health and safety guidelines concerning COVID-19. We felt this was a great way to utilize technology to still help provide care to our community, and at no cost to the patient.”

The website — www.AskADentistOnline.com — is available for anyone to use, and not limited to patients of Pineview Dental Care. Patients are able to keep their existing dentists — they are not required to switch dentists in order to use this online service. The service was created as a convenience and safety measure for the community to reduce travel time and expense, as well as reduce the risk of illness and exposure.

“Patients are able to utilize our virtual consultation to help determine the cause of their pain, solutions or determine if their issues are a medical or dental emergency. This helps guide them on the next best steps for their issues,” Myers said. “Our goal is to ensure we are virtually helping as many people as possible, to limit the amount of hospital visits, but also help guide those who may live remotely and are unsure of the cause of their discomfort.”
