1 dead in Albright fire

ALBRIGHT — An early morning fire in Albright resulted in the death of a juvenile, according to Albright Fire Chief Owen Evans.

Evans said four other people escaped the blaze by jumping from a second story window.

“We responded within eight minutes but the structure was already engulfed in flames,” Evans said.

He said the roof had already partially collapsed by the time they reached the scene.

Evans said two people were transported to Preston Memorial Hospital and then sent on to the West Penn Burn Center.

Bruceton and Kingwood Volunteer Fire Departments were also dispatched to the scene.
Names were not available in time for this report.
