Jared Rivera

Jared William Rivera, 34, of Uniontown, Pa., formerly of Kingwood, passed away unexpectedly in his home on Feb. 19, 2020.

“It is with a heavy heart we share with you Jared; a loving father, son, brother, uncle, grandson and friend is no longer fighting the pain of his disease of addiction.”
Jared was born Feb. 28, 1985, in Morgantown, a son of Diane Martin and stepdad, Wayne Martin, of Roscoe, Pa., and the late Cesar Rivera.

Jared graduated from Grove City, Pa. in 2002, at the top of his class. He attended Victory House Ministry Church in Uniontown, Pa. His love for his Lord and Savior was inspiring to anyone who knew him. He loved spending time with his daughters and watching them cheer, always ready in the stands to cheer them on.

He is survived by companion Felicia Romesburg of Freedom, Pa.; the loves of his life, his three girls, as he called them; the mother of his children, Ciji Shaffer; daughter Raelynn Rivera, and daughter Leeara Rivera and her boyfriend Codey Helms, all of Kingwood; his sister, Nicole Skidmore and husband Brent Skidmore; nieces, Kennedy Weston and Reese Skidmore, all of Morgantown; his grandmother, Phyllis Athey, of Roscoe, Pa.; His niece Christina Rivera of Franklin, Tenn.; in-laws, Kevin and Wendy Shaffer, of Kingwood; his old man, John Koton and wife Robin Koton, of Kingwood; his brothers, brothers-in-law; aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and many great friends.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his brother Roger C.A. Rivera; grandfather Robert Schmidt; step-grandfather Jack Athey.

A celebration of life will be held in memory of Jared W. Rivera at Together4Christ Ministries Church, at 115 Beverly Street Kingwood, WV 26537 at 6 p.m. Feb. 28, with Pastor Kelly Gamble officiating. Everyone is Welcome to Attend.
