Reedsville Council approves West Street exit for Rails-to-Trails, nixing Long Alley approach

REEDSVILLE — Preston County Parks and Recreation (PCPaR) will have a Rails-to-Trails exit coming off West Street, instead of Long Alley.

Mayor Jason Titus said the decision was made because there would not be enough space to build a parking pad for one of the Long Alley residents.

Residents who live in the Long Alley area previously voiced concerns about parking and the possibility of people coming into their yards.

In other news, Parrotta Paving was notified they will be doing the Park Avenue project, Titus said.

Titus signed the bid acceptance sheet to include asphalt milling base. He said the paperwork was submitted to Parrotta and work will begin on the project as soon as temperatures allow.

The Reedsville Police Department will be hosting a Touch-A-Truck event this spring.

Titus said the Reedsville Volunteer Fire Department agreed to co-host the event.

“I checked with our insurance company and we will be covered for this type of event,” Titus said.

He said venders interested in setting up at the event can call town hall at 304-864-3437.

Council went into executive session to discuss personnel.
