A traditional and formal police funeral escort led Morgantown Police Department K-9 Officer Apollo Von Den Alten Bergen to the High Meadow Pet Crematory on Friday. Apollo was a seven-year veteran of the MPD and served the city with his partner, Master Police Officer Michael Bloniarz. Apollo held certifications in patrol and narcotics detection. Apollo died unexpectedly due to complications from surgery.
