Part of the Mon River Trail to be closed due to ongoing construction

As a part of the ongoing Reynolds Hall construction efforts at West Virginia University, crews will install utility lines at the future site of Reynolds Hall — which was originally the site of Stansbury Hall.

To support this work, a portion of the Mon River Trail will be closed from Jan. 13 to Feb. 10.

During this time, a pedestrian and bicycle detour will be provided.

Reynolds Hall will be the new 180,000-square-foot home of the John Chambers College of Business and Economics. It will be constructed and ready for completion in mid-2022.

Stansbury Hall was built in the 1920s and had been the home of various WVU departments, including religious studies, humanities, philosophy, international programs, as well as the Army ROTC and the Air Force ROTC.

It was originally the university’s basketball arena.
