Violet Crowe

Violet Leoan Crowe, 100, of Morgantown, passed away on Friday, Nov. 1, 2019, at Morgantown Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was born Oct. 4, 1919, and was a daughter of the late Jess S. and Goldie Blosser Flowers. She has lived in the old home place where she was born her entire life.

On July 3, 1945, she married Harold Crowe and has always been a faithful wife, mother, and homemaker for the family.

Her favorite pastime was writing genealogy to pass on to the younger generations and writing poetry to share with family and friends.

She faithfully attended Goshen Baptist Church with her husband since 1981 as long as health permitted and then attended Mountain Chapel when she was able.

Violet is survived by her son, Randy Crowe and daughter-in-law, Mig; one grandson, Steven Crowe and his wife, Monica; a sister-in-law, Connie Caravasos; and nephews, Mark and Michael Caravasos and families.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Harold, with whom she shared 68 years of love.

Friends and family will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown from 3-7 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 5, and again at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 6, until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. with Pastor Damon Nicholson officiating. Interment will follow at Pisgah Cemetery.
