Forrest M. Pennington

Forrest M. Pennington, 85, of Terra Alta, met Jesus on Wednesday Oct. 9, 2019.
The son of the late Leonard and Edith Roy Pennington, he was born Sept. 14, 1934, in Dryfork.
Forrest was a member of Crellin Assembly of God Church, where he was the leader of the Royal Rangers.
He was a 1954 graduate of Harmon High School and graduated from WVU with a master’s degree in teaching. He was a U.S. Army veteran and was a specialist Minute Man Missile Corp.
Forrest was a teacher of Vocational Agriculture in Preston County and involved with the FFA. He retired with 35 years of service. He raised sheep and cattle and enjoyed hunting.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Patricia “Patty” Pennington; a daughter and spouse, Robin and Scott Wilson, of Newton, Iowa; four grandchildren, Gabrielle, Bethany, Anneliese and Isaiah; and a brother and spouse, Roy and Orpha Pennington, of Dryfork.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepmother, Polly Pennington; two brothers, one sister and his very special dog, Ginger.
Family and friends will be received at Crellin Assembly of God Church from 3-6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 11, and at the Dryfork Assembly of God Church from noon Saturday, Oct. 12, until the 1 p.m. service with Pastor Russell R. Houser officiating. Burial will follow at Smith Cemetery, in Dryfork.
