Trinity boys’, Morgantown girls’ soccer teams pick up wins in season openers

NEW MARTINSVILLE, W.Va.  — Noah Kurliko had a hat trick and Kyle Knight added two more to secure a big 5-2 win over Magnolia in Trinity Christian’s (1-0) season opener.

Knight dished out two assists to Kurliko, while Kurliko connected with Knight for one assist.

Fletcher Hartsock was big at the net with 11 saves for an 84.6 percent save-to-goals allowed ratio.

The Trinity boys’ soccer team returns to action at Linsly at 5 p.m. on Monday.

Girls’ Soccer

WHEELING, W.Va. — Morgantown (1-0) visited Linsly Saturday and came away with a 6-0 win.

Ashleigh Weaver and Anna Inquinto combined for four goals, grabbing two each. Sammie Brown and Adelle Pacyna each had one goal to cap the score.

Anne Williams had three assists, while Brown, Weaver and Cloe Ratlff each dished out one.

The Mohigans pick back up on Tuesday with a home game against Oak Glen.
