Lori “Nikki” Martin

Lori “Nikki” Martin, 38, of Morgantown, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, Aug. 10, 2019, at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital.
Born Oct. 19, 1980, in San Diego, Calif., Nikki was the daughter of Catherine and Roger Newsom and the late Christopher J. Martin Sr.
She is survived by her three children, Nikita Tiffany-Faye Martin, Shaundarius Tavon Reeder, Nevaeh Natalya Martin Everett and had a grandbaby on the way; four sisters, Maricia Robinette and husband, James, Desiree Shugars and husband, Gary, Jessica Beckwith and husband, Imani, Chanelle Newsom; four brothers, Chris J. Martin Jr., Chris J.M. Martin, Brandon Newsom and Donte Newsom; and her nephews, Izaiha John, Devin and Colin Robinette, Jayden Martin, Ty Martin and Amari Beckwith; nieces, Kaelyn James, Liana Martin and Ashlyn Martin. She is also survived by the fathers of her children Larry Reeder and Rashad Everett along with lifelong friends Kari Jefferson and Amy Jones.
Nikki’s greatest joy was her children and she dedicated her entire life to raising them. She appreciated every moment she was able to spend with them from their childhood to adulthood. Nikki enjoyed taking her daughters shopping and to the nail salon. She was her son’s number one fan. Nikki was so ecstatic about becoming a grandmother she had already began preparing.
Nikki loved being around her family and friends. She enjoyed cooking and providing for others. She loved her dogs King, Zoey, Kado and Tru. Nikki owned and operated an in home daycare center for 18 years. Even when she wasn’t working, she was busy being a mother to her children, their friends and other neighborhood kids. She was known for her generosity and desire to help everyone. She was an amazing friend to all that knew her.
She was preceeded in death by her father, Chris J. Martin Sr.; and paternal grandparents, Willie “Mucho” and Judith Martin; and paternal aunt, Tina Martin; along with her childhood best friend, Tiffany Faye Cramer.
The family will receive friends at Domico Funeral Home, in Fairmont from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 18. A memorial service will be held at the funeral home at 4 p.m. Sunday with Pastor Steve Stemple officiating.
Flowers may be sent to 414 Gaston Ave., Fairmont WV 26554. The family will be accepting donations to assist with Nikki’s afterlife expenses, an account has been set up at The United Bank, in Morgantown, under Lori Nicole Martin Funeral Fund.
