Dominion Post names new editor in chief, circulation director

Two long-time newspaper employees were promoted recently at The Dominion Post.

Editor Pam Queen

Pam Queen was promoted to editor and Rich Goodwin to director of the Circulation Department.

The announcement was made by The Dominion Post publisher David Raese.

Queen replaces Allan Taylor, who served as editor for about a year before leaving to write for a website specializing in sports.

Queen, 56, has been with the newspaper for 31 years, starting as a typist and moving through several positions, including news reporter, lifestyles editor, assistant managing editor and managing editor.

A Morgantown native, she is a graduate of St. Francis High School and West Virginia University, with a bachelor’s degree in secondary education. She taught English and journalism at University High School before starting her career as a journalist.

“I am excited to lead my hometown newspaper,” Queen said. “My experiences at The Dominion Post and knowledge of the area and its people will allow me to bring the important news and interesting features to our readers. We will continue to strive to be the best community newspaper while also providing news from the region and state.”

Queen said the partnership with MetroNews would continue, as would the move toward a more comprehensive online presence.

Circulation Director Rich Goodwin

Goodwin, also a Morgantown native, will mark his 33rd year with The Dominion Post in October. He started as an inserter and worked his way through the Circulation Department as a driver, single copy manager and district manager in Morgantown. Most recently, he was district manager for Preston and Taylor counties.

Goodwin, 51, is a graduate of University High School and attended Fairmont State College. He also is a licensed electrical apprentice.

Queen is the daughter of Ed and Patricia Cyphert. She and her husband, Lee, live in Monongalia County and have two daughters, Kayla, 23, and Hannah, 20.

Goodwin is the son of Nancy Goodwin and the late Joseph Goodwin. He has two daughters, Courtney Chiaramonte and husband, Patrick; and Maggie Goodwin. He and his wife, Tricia, live in Preston County.
