Post 2 lights up Bridgeport

Fireworks are held after Morgantown’s Post 2 wins against Bridgeport’s Post 68 at the Monongalia County Ballpark on July 4th.

MORGANTOWN, W. Va. — Quintin Smith drove in two runs and Caleb Taylor had three hits to lead Morgantown Post 2 to an 8-3 victory against Bridgeport on Thursday, at Monongalia County Ballpark.

Colton Matthews picked up the win for Post 2 (18-2). He went seven innings and allowed nine hits, three runs and struck out eight.

Morgantown did most of its damage in the second inning by scoring five runs. Post 2 had 10 hits in the game.

Ethan Smith also went 2-for-3 and drove in a run for Post 2.
Morgantown will host Potomac Valley in a doubleheader, starting at 2 p.m. Sunday.
