Governor’s office confirms Wednesday announcements regarding roads, development

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Gov. Jim Justice will be in town Wednesday afternoon to make announcements regarding roads and trumpeting new investment in the WestRidge development.

A Tuesday press release from Justice’s office confirmed the visit.

Justice will be at Mylan Park Ruby Community Center at 1 p.m. with Transportation Secretary Byrd White and Commissioner of Highways Jimmy Wriston to talk about roads — likely a deal between the county and the state to address Chaplin Hill Road.

Today’s Monongalia County Commission meeting budget includes the consideration of an agreement between the West Virginia Department of Transportation Division of Highways and the commission for road repairs.

At 2 p.m., Justice will be with the county commissioners and community business partners at the Leidos construction site in the WestRidge Business Park to announce additional economic developments.
