Richard Saltsman

Richard Duane ‘Rich’ Saltsman, 35, of Core, passed away on Monday, May 20, 2019, from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.  He was born July 27, 1983, in Morgantown.
Rich was a welder for Northco Corporation and also owned and operated his own business, Rich’s Welding and Repair.  He was a member of Chestnut Ridge Church.  In his spare time he enjoyed anything outdoors including fishing, camping, hunting, and tubing.  He was also an avid motorcycle enthusiast.
Rich was known as kind hearted and generous, willing to help anyone in need.  Most of all he loved spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Brandy Saltsman; his mom, Tina Piper and partner Wayne Cordray; his dad, Duane Saltsman and wife Bonnie; his children, Adrianna Saltsman, Whitney Saltsman; stepdaughter, Jada Merrifield; brother, Johnny Saltsman and wife Sarah; sister, Crystal Saltsman; and  nieces and nephews Teirra, Destiny, and Jayden.
He was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Elsworth and Ellen Piper; and paternal grandfather, Al Saltsman.
The family will receive friends at Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home from 5 – 8 p.m. on Thursday, May 23,  and from 12 p.m.  on Friday, until the time of funeral services at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Mike Brown officiating.  Honoring the family’s wishes cremation will follow.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home 10 S. High St. Morgantown, WV 26501, to help offset expenses.
