City council election cavassing complete; 1,642 voters cast ballots

MORGANTOWN — The results of Morgantown’s April 30 municipal election were certified on Monday as a quorum of city council sat as the city’s canvassing board.
All told, six of eight provisional ballots were counted, as were six absentee ballots that arrived since Election Day, bringing the total number of votes cast to 1,642 out 18,642 registered voters — or 8.8%.
Any request for a recount must be made within 24 hours of canvassing.
