14-year-old Morgantown girl found safe; man arrested in connection

MORGANTOWN — Police canceled an Amber Alert at a few minutes before 10 Sunday night after a Morgantown teenager was found safe.

The initial alert was issued before 8 p.m. The message said Shyanne Lula Phillips, 14, may have been abducted by her boyfriend and was believed to be in extreme danger. The alert was canceled after the teen was located safely in Front Royal, Va. The Front Royal Police Department located Philips at about 9 p.m. Sunday.

Philips was with 26-year-old Danny Small. Small was arrested by the Front Royal Police Department for contributing to the delinquency of a minor. The Morgantown Police Department has also obtained a kidnapping warrant for Small.

Small is being held in the Rappahannock Shenandoah Warren Regional Jail in Virginia awaiting arraignment on his contributing to the delinquency of a minor charge and extradition back to West Virginia.
