Morgantown man admits to child pornography charge

CLARKSBURG — John Ontko, of Morgantown, has admitted to a child pornography charge, United States Attorney Bill Powell announced.

Ontko, 66, pleaded guilty to one count of possession of child pornography. Ontko admitted to having child pornography from February to April 2018 in Monongalia County.

Ontko faces up to 20 years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000.

Assistant U.S. Attorney David J. Perri is prosecuting the cases on behalf of the government. The U.S. Department of Energy Office of Inspector General investigated. U.S. Magistrate Judge Michael John Aloi presided.
