Suspect in Fairmont fatal shooting turns himself in

MORGANTOWN — A Fairmont man is in custody for a fatal shooting Wednesday.

At about 12:30 a.m April 12, Morgantown Police arrested Christopher Tyrone Keldo, 25, of Fairmont, after he surrendered himself at the police station in the Public Safety Building at 300 Spruce St., according to a release.

A first-degree murder warrant was issued for Keldo in connection with a Fairmont shooting, in which someone fired a single gunshot along Hawthorne Street.

Justin KaShaun Hughes, 27, of Fairmont, was identified as the victim. When police arrived on scene, he was still alive, but died as a result of his wound while neighbors were attempting to administer aid.

Keldo was taken into custody without incident and is awaiting arraignment.
